Oxabol is the third compound from the Promatrix - Hydroxy Hormone Series. If you haven’t figured it out yet the Hydroxy Hormone Series stands for the C4 hydroxylated metabolites of andro, test and nortest or more precisely 4-Hydroxy-4-Androstenedione (4-OHA), 4-HydroxyTestosterone (4-OHT), and 4-HydroxyNandrolone (4-OHN). As you can see the C4 Hydroxylation represents the 4-Hydroxy portion at the front of each compound. Oxabol is 4-HydroxyNandrolone undecanoate (4-OHN undecanaote) or 4-Hydroxy-19-nortestosterone undecanoate. Nandrolone is modified form of testosterone designed to be much more anabolic and less androgenic than testosterone. Common Nandrolone esters include DECA DURABOLIN (nandrolone decanoate), DYNABOLAN (nandrolone undecanoate), and DYNABOL (nandrolone cypionate). So in other words Oxabol is a really an orally bioavailable form of Nandrolone. OK, you can pick your jaw up off the floor. That’s right real oral Nandrolone. Oxabolone The Oxabol base compound 4-HydroxyNandrolone (4-OHN) is chemically known as Oxabolone. This little forgotten Italian steroid was referred to as Steranabol Ritardo (in Italy) not to be confused with the American Steranabol (Colestebol or Turnibol) which is a totally different scheduled drug (4-chlorotestosterone acetate). 4-OHN is a highly anabolic / androgenic hormone that possesses unique characteristics that can be altered depending upon the type of modification such as 17-alpha alkylation or side chain attachment of long chain ester or ether. Some of these unique characteristics include enhanced anabolism, inhibition of estrogen biosynthesis, no progestational conversion, no estrogenic conversion, and no sodium retention. Just like its 4-OHA and 4-OHT counterparts 4-OHN possesses greater anabolism than its non hydroxylated base and the ability to inhibit the formation of estrogen. The Non Progestational Activity is the Most Unique Attribute The non progestational activity is the most unique attribute since 19-nor compounds are thought to increase progestins and thus lead to a decreased libido but as you can see this effect will not occur with Oxabol. Anabolic / Androgenic ratio If you compare the fast acting 17-alpha alkylated oral version of 4-OHN (4-Hydroxy-17-alpha-methyl-19-nortestosterone) to Methyl Test (17-alpha-methyl-Testosterone) you will find that it possesses a myotrophic or muscle building action that is 27 times higher than Methyl Test and with an androgenic properties that are 5 times higher than Methyl Test. (See Table I) But now if you compare a long chain injectable ester (4-OHN cypionate) with prolonged release you will find that it possesses much greater myotrophic action than testosterone cypionate but with no androgenic properties. This is a common pharmacokinetic difference between fast acting orals and slow acting injectables. The modification of the compound (ester, ether or 17-alpha alkylation) influences the release rate of both dosage forms (oral and injectable) but more so for the injectables than orals. For instance, Testosterone undecanoate when given orally has a short half life of 3-5 hours maybe 8 in some people but when injected its 7 days or 1 week. The length of the ester increases the lipid or fat solubility, which increases the partition coefficient (the ratio between lipid and water solubility). This means the longer the ester the longer the half life and greater the partition coefficient thus the increased anabolic and diminished androgenic action. So hormones that are absorbed quickly with a spike and a quick drop tend to enhance any androgenic activity that the hormone may possess. Undecanoate Ester The undecanoate ester represents an 11 carbon side chain which is considered a long side chain utilized for oral hormone preparations and long acting injectables. Like the ether the undecanoate ester increases lipid solubility and fosters lymphatic absorption when taken orally. The side chain length or degree of lipid solubility influences the release rate of the oral versions, similar to the injectables, but to a much lesser extent. The greater the lipid solubility the greater the partition coefficient and the greater amount absorbed via the lymphatic system. For example, the long chain esters and ethers absorbed orally by the lymphatic system are thought to have a slower release than other oral hormones absorbed by the portal circulation. However this difference does not demonstrate a significant alteration in half life. Now if you take it a step further and add an oral extended release matrix that causes significant prolonged released into the already slower absorbing lymphatic system you should now have an oral preparation that only needs to be taken twice a day that promotes massive anabolism and minimal androgenicity. In other words you would have Oxabol (4-HydroxyNandrolone undecanoate orals). For example Steranabol Ritardo (in Italy) or extended release oxabolone has demonstrated this same pharmokinetic action.
